Graffiti artists, commonly known as “writers,” use their creations to make statements, communicate messages and or leave their mark on the urban landscape. The style and content of graffiti can vary significantly, ranging from intricate lettering and abstract designs to social and political commentary. Some graffiti artists develop unique signatures or tags to establish their presence and identity within the graffiti community.

I categorise my ‘graffiti’ as traditional. I keep to the original theme of ‘tags’ and ‘throw ups’ to define my pieces and graffiti art. I also favour simple, large ‘public’ and ‘new york funk styles’. I do dabble in ‘wildstyle’ and ‘3d lettering’ too. I prefer traditional colour schemes such as chrome and black for my personal work. I also explore the more dynamic colour schemes, experimenting with the bold and contrasting mix graffiti art is well known for.

While graffiti is often viewed as an act of vandalism, it has also gained recognition as a legitimate art form. Many graffiti artists possess considerable skill and talent, employing techniques like shading, perspective and color theory to create visually striking and captivating works. Some graffiti artists have transitioned into successful careers as fine artists, muralists, or designers. I like to consider myself in this category.
